Venue Information
The King's Theatre was built in 1905 by William Stewart Cruikshank to the designs of J. D. Swanston and James Davidson, architects, and opened in 1906 with a performance of Cinderella.
Originally built on four levels, the Gallery was removed in the 1950s and the Upper circle below was extended backwards with extra seats. The seating capacity is currently 1350.
In 2003 the Theatre's exterior was refurbished and it is hoped that further refurbishment of the interior will commence soon.
